TechnoWitchy Memory Archival Services

This is a service most anyone can appreciate, wither they just want to ensure the safety of their childhood pictures, the pictures of their own children, their wedding pictures, or even more precious old family photos that the family genealogist has managed to collect.  And the great thing about digital storage is that you can have multiple copies for a very low price!  So no longer do we have to trek over to Aunt Emily's house to show the kids what Great-Great-Grandma Martha looked like, we can just pop in our own copy of the family history album and show them any time they ask (or have a report to do in class).  This also saves the older pictures, which can be damaged by repeat exposure to light.  Now that most photo developers are offering to put your current rolls of film on CD for you, don't you wish that you could get your older pictures on CD too?  Now you can!

So, how much does all this cost?  Amazingly little, considering the heartbreak it can save.  Ahmie came up with the idea of offering this service after talking to a couple at the resort she and Garvin went to on their honeymoon.  This couple had been married for several years, and as they were moving from one home to a new one, the old home caught fire - with all of their wedding pictures still in the old home!  After spending hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on your wedding pictures, it only makes sense to make digital copies of them, so that they can be stored elsewhere (or shared with other family members) easily and without having to worry about possible damage coming to them.  (Please be sure that your photographer does not hold copyright to the photos or doesn't mind them being digitized before sending them to us.  We will assume that we have the permission of the copyright holder to digitize any pictures we receive).  After putting your pictures on CD for you, we send you back your original pictures and any discs that have been made, usually within 4-6 weeks.  We can even remove the red eye, touch up blemishes, hide scratches, and color adjust the digital copy of any photograph (for nominal additional charge)!

So, as an example, let's say you send me 20 pictures to put on CD for you and want a total of 3 digital copies.  All of the pictures are standard sized pictures from the photo developer (4x6 or so), so the price for all the photos to be digitized is $10, plus $5 to start the CD.  Four of the pictures have redeye and one of those pictures is slightly torn, which you ask me to touch up.  That means 3 of the pictures will cost you 10 cents extra, and the one that is torn and has red eye will cost 20 cents extra (since I have to apply 2 touchups).  Then I make 2 additional copies of the CD, for $5 each.  Grand total for all this is $25.50, plus shipping (Sorry, to keep our prices this low, you have to pay the shipping costs both ways.  For valuable family photos, we recommend you insure the package.  We will mail the photos and discs back the same way you mail them to us, so that you will be able to estimate the return price when you send the pictures - CDs and jewel cases don't add very much weight)

Let's say that you don't want a CD, but just want the pictures emailed to you or uploaded to a web space you specify? We can do that too, and then you don't have to pay the $5 CD charge (though you still have to pay shipping both ways for your photos).  One thing to note:  photos that are to be sent through the internet/email will be at a lower resolution, as needed to keep from taking up too much space, and may not reprint to look as good as the originals.  If you have me send you a CD, that CD can be taken in to many shops that have kiosks that let you print out your photos from CD, for a printout as good as the original.  This quality requires a large file though, and the size of the file is usually unreasonably large to send over the internet, though we will scan at that resolution to send via internet if you specify that it is your wish.  If you do want the CD-quality on CD, but also want to receive email/uploaded copies to post on your web page, I can make a web-resolution copy of the CD quality picture for 10 cents, same charge as applying a touchup.

OK, so now you're dying to send me your pictures and get this CD back, how do you do it?  First, email Ahmie to let her know that the pictures are on their way.  If there will be any additional delays to processing time (due to travel or many customers ahead of you), she will let you know.  After getting an email reply from Ahmie, mail your pictures to:

Please be sure to label the package "Fragile: Photos
Enclosed DO NOT BEND" and such as the United States Postal Service recommends!!! Ahmie will email you to let you know when she has received your pictures and begin work on digitizing them as soon as possible.  If you would like web-resolution copies sent to you (at an additional 10 cents per photo) as the photos are completed, please let her know no later than the time when Ahmie says that she got your pictures in the mail, as she will be doing her best to get your pictures back to you quickly, and we do not retain copies of your pictures after we mail you the CD!  Ahmie will send you an email when she is ready to mail your photos and CD back to you, to give you the total due and arrange payment.  At this time, we can only accept check or money order (made out to Ahmie Yeung, until we get our bank account set up), though we hope to accept Visa/MC/Discover soon for larger orders.  Once your payment is received, Ahmie will mail your photos and CD(s) to you!
